Free UPI QR Code Generator

One scan and the payer's UPI app fills in your UPI ID, name and amount.

Main settings

The address like name@bank the money goes to. Its shape is checked before a code is created.
Optional, but shown on the payer's confirmation screen — worth filling in.
Leave empty to let the payer enter the amount.

QRtor only encodes the details you enter. It does not process payments and is not a banking service. Check the code in your own UPI app before printing it.

Fill in the fields. QRtor will build the correct QR content automatically.

A UPI QR code carries a upi://pay link with your UPI ID, so any NPCI app — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM — prefills the payment instead of the payer typing an address. QRtor builds the code in your browser and checks the address shape first; it does not process payments and is not a banking service.

Use cases

  • Shop counters, stalls, and street vendors.
  • Invoices, delivery notes, and price tags.
  • Tips, donations, and community collections.

How to create it

  1. Enter your UPI ID, and optionally your name and an amount in rupees.
  2. Generate the code in your browser.
  3. Scan it with your own UPI app to confirm the details.
  4. Download PNG, SVG or PDF and place it at your counter or on the invoice.

FAQ

Which apps read this code?

Every NPCI participant: GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM and the UPI scanners built into Indian banking apps. The upi://pay link is the common format they all share.

What is a UPI ID?

The address of your UPI account, shaped like name@bank — anil@oksbi or 9876543210@ybl. Your UPI app shows it in your profile; the code carries exactly that address.

Can I leave the amount empty?

Yes. An empty amount lets the payer type it themselves, which is how most shop counter codes work. A fixed amount suits invoices and price tags.

Do my payment details go anywhere?

No. The code is built in your browser and the details never leave your device — check the network tab if you like. QRtor only encodes what you enter and does not process payments.

Is this a static or dynamic code?

Static. The UPI ID is written into the image itself, so the code never expires and needs no subscription — it works for as long as the UPI ID stays active.

UPI QR code limits, app support and printing

Capacity and limits

The code carries a upi://pay link, so the payload stays small: a UPI ID, an optional name shown on the payer's confirmation screen, an optional amount in rupees and a short note. An empty amount is a feature, not a gap — the payer types it, which is how most counter codes work. A fixed amount suits invoices and price tags, where the figure should not be editable by habit.

Device compatibility

Every NPCI participant reads the format: GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM and the scanners built into Indian banking apps. This is the one payment type where a plain camera app also usually works, because Android and iOS hand the upi:// link to an installed UPI app. Outside India the code is inert — UPI accounts are what it moves money between.

Common mistakes

  • A typo in the UPI ID: unlike an IBAN there is no checksum inside the address, so the shape check catches malformed entries but not a wrong-yet-valid one — always test-scan your own printed code first.
  • Printing a personal UPI ID on a business counter, then losing the code's payments when the account is later converted to a merchant profile with a new address.
  • Relying on the note field for reconciliation: some apps truncate or drop it, so an order number belongs in the printed text next to the code as well.

Printing and placement

Counter cards and stall signs are read from half a metre, so 30 to 50 mm is the usual size. The payload is light, which keeps modules large and forgiving of laminate glare and wear — but the habit that matters most is the first one: scan the printed proof with your own UPI app before making copies.
