A restaurant-menu QR code links guests to a menu page that you host online. If the page remains at the same URL, its content can be updated without printing a new static QR code.

Use cases

  • Tables, counters, windows, and table tents.
  • Takeaway packaging, receipts, and delivery inserts.
  • Hotel rooms, food trucks, and seasonal promotions.

How to create it

  1. Paste the URL of your online menu.
  2. Customize QR size, colors and optional logo.
  3. Generate the restaurant menu QR code in your browser.
  4. Download PNG, SVG or PDF and test it from a table before printing.

FAQ

Can I create a QR code for a restaurant menu?

Yes. Paste the URL of your online menu, generate the QR code and download it for print or digital use.

Can I update the menu later?

With a static QR code, the encoded URL does not change. You can update the menu page at that URL without changing the QR code.

Does the restaurant menu QR code expire?

QRtor does not expire static QR codes. The menu URL must remain active.

Which format should I download for print?

Use SVG or PDF for print layouts when possible, and always test the printed QR code.

Restaurant menu QR code hosting, table placement and limits

Capacity and limits

The code carries a link to a menu you host, so the payload is short and the pattern sparse. The menu behind it can change as often as you like; what must not change is the address, because that is the part baked into every printed table card.

Device compatibility

Guests scan straight from the camera app on both platforms, with no app to install. What varies is the page you send them to: a heavy PDF menu is slow on a busy venue's connection, while a plain mobile page opens in a second on the same signal.

Common mistakes

  • Linking to a PDF that opens as a full-page document guests have to pinch and drag on a phone.
  • Publishing the menu at a seasonal address, so the winter code stops working in spring.
  • Laminating table tents before scanning a proof, which turns a small contrast error into a full reprint.

Printing and placement

Table tents are read from about half a metre, so 30 to 50 mm is right; window codes read from the street need one to three times that. Matte lamination scans better than gloss, which throws back the ceiling lights.
