A business-card QR code uses vCard data so a scanner can save your contact details instead of typing them. Keep the printed code large enough and leave clear space around its edges.

Use cases

  • Printed business cards and stationery.
  • Sales decks, proposals, and email signatures.
  • Networking cards, conference badges, and portfolios.

How to create it

  1. Enter your name, phone, email, company and optional website.
  2. Customize the QR code size, colors and logo.
  3. Generate the vCard QR code in your browser.
  4. Download PNG, SVG or PDF and test it on a phone before printing.

FAQ

What is a business card QR code?

It is a QR code that stores contact details, usually in vCard format, so scanners can save the contact quickly.

Can I use it on printed business cards?

Yes. Download PNG, SVG or PDF, keep enough quiet space around the code and test the printed card.

Does QRtor store my contact details?

Static vCard QR codes are generated in your browser. QRtor does not store the contact details you enter.

Can I add a logo?

Yes. Use a simple logo and keep strong contrast so the QR code remains easy to scan.

Business card QR code size, contact fields and print limits

Capacity and limits

A card gives you roughly 20 to 25 millimetres, which is the tightest common placement, and vCard is a verbose format. Name, role, phone, email and company fit comfortably at that size; every additional field trades scanning margin for detail most people never read.

Device compatibility

Phone cameras on both platforms preview the contact and save it on confirmation, and desktop address books import the same data. Contact codes are one of the few types where the recipient's device does something permanent, so the details need to be right before the run is printed.

Common mistakes

  • Filling every field the form offers, then printing a code too dense for card-sized reproduction.
  • Placing the code near the trim edge, where cutting tolerance eats into the quiet zone the scanner needs.
  • Choosing a textured or heavily coated stock that scatters the module edges under indoor light.

Printing and placement

Print a single card as a proof and scan it under the lighting of an actual meeting room, not a desk lamp. If it hesitates, remove optional fields first — that buys more margin than enlarging the code on a card ever can.
